As per SEBI notification dated January 7, 2014 regarding SEBI (Foreign Portfolio Investors) Regulations, 2014, Foreign Portfolio Investors Regime is commencing from June 1, 2014. Pursuant to the implementation of Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) regime, SEBI has authorized NSDL to issue registration number and certificate to FPIs on behalf of SEBI along with monitoring of FPI Group investment and various data related to FPI activities to be displayed on NSDL web portal.
